{"id":1283,"date":"2025-10-26T17:31:03","date_gmt":"2025-10-26T17:31:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lhs.dev.hcdigital.co.uk\/school-life\/school-council\/"},"modified":"2025-11-06T10:13:36","modified_gmt":"2025-11-06T10:13:36","slug":"school-council","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lhs.dev.hcdigital.co.uk\/cy\/school-life\/school-council\/","title":{"rendered":"School Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-e3cbf7d\" id=\"purpose-statement\" data-block-id=\"e3cbf7d\"><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">Purpose Statement<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To support the aims of Llanidloes High School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To represent the whole school community in a contributory, advisory, creative and decision-making process by overseeing the purpose and functions of the school as expressed in the School Education Act 1999.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To contribute to the School\u2019s Improvement Plan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-6ace121\" id=\"functions\" data-block-id=\"6ace121\"><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">Functions<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The functions of the Llanidloes High School Council are to take part in:-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Establish and review from time to time, the school\u2019s objectives, priorities and general policy directions;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Formulating codes of conduct for students at the school.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote the school in the community<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A School Council does not take part in the day to day management of the school or its staff. The School Council will not consider personal issues relating to individual pupils, staff or others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A copy of the School Council\u2019s constitution should be made available for all registered pupils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-27c12c7\" id=\"composition\" data-block-id=\"27c12c7\"><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">Composition<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Llanidloes High School Council shall consist of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An Assistant&nbsp;Headteacher<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One Year leader<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Area Leader for Health &amp; Wellbeing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One staff member&nbsp;&nbsp;\u2013 Clerk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 Elected members from each year group by secret ballot<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional members to represent other areas e.g. SEN and Welsh Medium Education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS Purpose Statement Functions The functions of the Llanidloes High School Council are to take part in:- A School Council does not take part in the day to day management of the school or its staff.
